Our Story

Having stood empty for some time, The Cricketers pub, on Kew Green, officially reopened under new independent ownership in August 2020.

Now a free house and undergoing a full refurbishment, The Cricketers is resuming its place at the heart of the local community offering excellent food and exceptional, friendly service. The bar serves a wide range of beers, ales, wines, and spirits (and some cocktails). The food menu focuses on traditional British pub dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients and includes a fabulous Sunday lunch.

With its enviable, south-facing position overlooking the cricket green and very close to The Thames (and Kew Gardens), the pub boasts a spacious front terrace perfect for watching the world go by over a bite to eat and a drink or two. The outdoor space continues to the side, with a large garden at the rear. The comfortable and warm interior flows from a relaxed bar area at the front to a slightly more formal dining space to the back, and a secluded dining cubby, nicknamed The Cow Shed.

The new owner is Adam Rontaler, who previously worked in wealth management in the city, supported by his wife, Victoria and pub dog Rosie. Adam grew up in Ealing in West London and is a more than enthusiastic (obsessed!) Brentford FC fan. Owning and running a pub has always been a dream of Adam’s and he and Victoria are excited for this new chapter and look forward to making The Cricketers, Kew their new home. They bring with them a very experienced team in
both the bar and the kitchen.
